Scott G. Knoche PT, Dip. MDT, CSCS, CPT
Scott has been a state licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in Missouri since 1987. He graduated with honors in Physical Therapy from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Health Professions. During his career, Scott has treated thousands of patients from all walks of life. He frequently works with patients that have back pain and orthopedic joint problems. Scott also sees athletes, active children and seniors. In addition, he works with industrial clients and children with developmental delays. Orthopedic concerns, including orthotic fitting, continue to be something he does for Summit Strength as well.
In 1990 Scott earned a Certification in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT). In 1996 Scott studied in Minnesota for several months and earned the Diploma (Dip.) in MDT of the spine from the McKenzie Institute International. Scott has been invited to make presentations about the spine and extremities to health care professionals. This includes being a guest lecturer for the University of Missouri-Columbia and the University of Kansas School of Physical Therapy. Scott has participated in several research studies for the treatment of the spine through The University of Texas-El Paso and The State University of New York in Syracuse.
In 2001 Scott founded Summit Strength. Summit Strength has grown into a high level local and regional Physical Therapy clinic and serves as a large Training facility for students progressing in their physical therapy careers.
Scott has received his Certification as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Personal Trainer (CPT) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is involved in helping his clients restore their maximum function with strength, flexibility, speed and coordination for their sport, job or hobby. Most professional and intercollegiate athletic teams have a Strength and Conditioning Coach on staff to develop fitness programs for athletes that are sport and position specific. Many successful sports programs will credit the strength and conditioning strategy for prevention of injury and higher performance.
Scott has been actively involved youth sports for over 25 years. He has lived in Lee’s Summit for over 27 years and is actively involved in his church. Tom McCarthy, PT, DPT
Tom has been practicing PT in the Kansas City area since 1999. He completed both his undergraduate and physical therapy training at Creighton University in Omaha. After growing up in KCK, Tom returned home to begin practicing. He has received advanced training in manual therapy as well as extensive work in sports related injuries and rehab. His experience has allowed him the flexibility to work with patients varying in age from infants to seniors. Tom has also spent a significant amount of time working in the area of industrial rehab performing functional capacity evaluations, pre-work screens, work conditioning and job site analysis/functional job descriptions. Abby Seider, PT, DPT
Abby is a physical therapist who earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Rockhurst University in 2015. She loves the diversity of physical therapy and enjoys working with clients in the outpatient setting including those with both orthopedic and neurological conditions. Abby also has experience working with children and loves being creative to help meet the goals of kids and their parents. Abby was raised in Lee’s Summit and grew up as a patient at Summit Strength Physical Therapy. She and her husband, Nathan, enjoy traveling, being active, and spending time with family and friends. Ryan Dougherty, PT, DPT
Ryan received his clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO. He also received his undergraduate degree in Biology at Southwest Baptist while playing for the Men’s Basketball Team. Ryan’s clinical interests include sports rehab, orthopedics, and manual therapy. Ryan excels in high level sports rehabilitation using focused and hands on, sport specific rehabilitation to close the gap between dysfunction and return to sport. Ryan is originally from Ft. Tommy Frevert, PT, DPT
Tommy graduated from Northwest Missouri State in 2009 with his Bachelor’s in Biological Psychology and received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Rockhurst University in 2012. He grew up with an extensive sports background including Football, Soccer, Basketball and Tennis for Lee’s Summit North High School and then pursued football in college at Northwest Missouri State being part of 4 National Championship appearances. After graduating from Rockhurst he continued to play indoor football around the Midwest before joining the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League where he was awarded Kicker of the Year both years he played in 2015 and 2016 and was part of the Championship winning team of 2016. Throughout his football career he had the opportunity to practice PT around the United States in various settings with his wife, Lindsey, who is an Occupational Therapist. He has concentrated therapy experience in geriatrics recovering from joint replacement surgeries, neurological disorders, and general rehab in addition to experience with athletes of all levels and pediatrics. Paige Vanderpool, PT, DPT
Paige graduated from the University of Kansas with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She also received his undergraduate degree in Health Promotion from Emporia State Universtiy where she played on the women’s volleyball team. She continues to work with younger women and girls through coaching and volleyball training camps, and achieving execellence in sports is a passion. Chris Binns, PT, DPT
Chris graduated from the University of Kansas with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He played soccer at William Jewell where he studied for his undergraduate degree. He has focused experience with children and seeks best outcomes for each individual with expertise and challenging patients to work through the most appropriate exercise program. Chandra Moore, PTA
Chandra is a physical therapy assistant that graduated from Penn Valley Community College. She has a special interest in aggressive fitness programs that last two, four and eight hours through the day to help people return to work or normal daily activities after a severe injury. Chandra works closely with our lead physical therapists to provide aggressive therapies to progress the patient. Chandra is highly trained in progressing patients through their rehab. Tamara Williams, PTA
Tami is a Physical Therapy Assistant. She graduated from Penn Valley’s P.T.A. program in 1990 and has been licensed in Missouri ever since. She has extensive training in providing therapy for Lower Extremity Amputees from pre-surgery through post-prosthetic fitting. Tami’s years of experience allows her to work with a wide variety of diagnoses. She is compassionate, enthusiastic and embraces a challenge. Ella Hackney, PTA
Ella began her career in secondary education, and has worked in physical therapy for more than 25 years. Her experience includes pediatrics in the schools, acute care in a hospital setting, home health care and outpatient rehabilitation. She enjoys working with a wide range of conditions including neurological issues and orthopedic rehabilitation. Saige attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College on a rodeo scholarship while earning her associate’s degree in Health and Physical Education Pre-Athletic Training. Pamm works with both insurance companies and patients in filing claims for therapy services. She grew up in Lee’s Summit and raised her 4 children here with her husband Terry.
